Wow what a day

Exactly 8 days less than one year since I was baptised my 3 kids all decided to go for the plunge. The fruits of a changed lifestyle could not be more realized than in each one of my children themselves choosing a public proclamtion of their faith. I have made plenty of mistakes but for the first time in my adult life I can look back at my last year with no regrets. My children CHOSE to be baptised, I have never been a prouder parent or felt more positive emotions than I did yesterday. I want to thank the Lord for placing all the tools in my life that have made this happen. My family thanks Pastor Dan for being the rock for our family that it so desperatly needed. Pastor Aaaron for being his rock, and for being my teacher on so many levels. Our Northshore family that doesn't probally realize how important a part of our family they are. Most importantly I want to thank my family for sticking with me, I hope this last year has started to make up for a lifetime of mistakes. Without any sense of authroity I am also so proud of Julie and her decision yesterday. enjoy the video

Crazy Experience

Went to the states yesterday to go out to eat with the family, stopped in briefly at Wallmart when a crazy experience happened or unfolded. A young guy (probally about 13) was walking with a poster board sign that read " I tried to steal batteries from Walmart. GOD says thou shall not steal". He was walking in front of the store back and forth and obviously was not grinning ear to ear. A flood of funky emotions came over me, I walked up to him and told him that I was involved in stealing allot more than batteries and my name was on the front page of the paper and to keep his chin up. He gave me a half smile and continued walking. Kudos to his parents or whoever was responsible for this form of punishment, lessons can be learned and taught from anywhere at anytime. What great lessons I learned, yesterday, three weeks ago and a year ago. To the few people following this I promise I will do it more frequent

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 3, 2010

Hallelujah! I just reviewed the front page news article online...and in the end, I'm actually somewhat relieved. Firstly, sorry for not updating my daily walk, but I will start to do so immediately, as I have continued to read and write my way through the Bible.
Some of the things, including this blog, may be not legally sound, but so be it. I am extremely sorry that Dean's name was mentioned, as he had absolutely nothing to do with this mess, and to the best of my knowledge, Della was also unaware. The comments by Steve were extremely disappointing, and actually hurt, but at this time, we will continue to pray for him and his family. There are hundreds if not thousands of people I have not talked to and this has been one of the biggest casualties of the scenario that played out. To the innocent bystanders, I am truly sorry, first and foremost my wife & kids. To my core group of friends and family who know the truth, I appreciate all of your support. Please remember to have my family in your prayers.
Please bear with me as I gather my thoughts back together and begin to write about what I've read in God's word...

DAY 73, MARCH 14, 2010

Numbers 21:1-22:20
The people of Israel ask the Lord for help to beat the Canaan. The Lord obliges, but shortly after the Israelis forget and start to complain again. For once, it seems as if the Jews realize that speaking against the Lord doesn't turn out good and they repent their sins. God sent the death from earth as they didn't appreciate the gifts of heaven. With the blessings of the Lord, Israel seems to be eating up the nations in this area. Balaam seems to be a Godly man who has a relationship with the Lord. He isn't bribed by any amount of money or anything to betray the Lord. He agrees to go to Balak, but only because the Lord led it. This whole episode also shows if you are blessed by God, not even another man of God can curse or hurt you.

Luke 1:26-56

The people in Nazareth were look down upon by the rest of the Israelis, so it is poetic justice that God choose someone from Nazareth to have His son, the King of Kings, our saviour Jesus Christ. When Mary goes to visit Elizabeth, and the baby jumps when it hears Mary's voice, this is another confirmation of God's work and his master plan coming together. When Gabriel tells Mary that she is going to give birth to Jesus, she questions it not from a stance of it not happening, more from a stance that she didn't understand how? As she was a virgin. Mary is a great example for us all to follow...she committed wholly to the Lord even without a sense of understanding, she is committed body, mind and soul to the Lord.

DAY 72, MARCH 13, 2010

Numbers 19:1-20-29
At the start of Chapter 20, a common recurring theme seems to be happening among the Israelites. They start to complain about the lack of figs, pomegranates, and water among other things. Is this an illustration by the Bible to show how faithless and forgetful as a people we are? After the rock issue with Moses and Aaron, God seems to punish them for not doing what He told them to do. I assume this was he was told to command water out of the rock and instead he hit the rock. Aaron passes away on Mount Her as God tells him he will be joining his ancestors, all the people of Israel mourn for thirty days.

Luke 1:1-25
This is the beginning of Luke and it starts out being addressed to Theophilus, who is this person. The first part of this addresses John the Baptist's birth and the angel Gabriel telling Zachariah of his son coming. Zachariah at first doubts Gabriel's prophesy of his wife having a special baby that will convert lots of Israelis to the Lord. For having doubt, Gabriel will not let Zachariah speak until John the Baptist is born. Imagine having the most amazing prophesy and testimony to tell and not being able to talk about it because of your own flesh and his wife's flesh instead of having faith in the Lord. He thought they were too old to conceive, but with the Lord, all is possible.

DAY 71, MARCH 12, 2010

Numbers 16:41-18:32
Yet agian the people of Israel complain and grumble agianst the Lord. Should they not respect and fear Him after all He has done? The Lord is extrememly angry as the people are upset with Aaron and Moses and they are the ones who have twice in two days prayed for the people to be saved from God's vengeance. He even started a plague to kill them all and Aaron had to run amongst them to make it right with God so no one would die.

Mark 16:1-20
The power of this part of the Bible is overwhelming and all powerful. His sacrifice for us and then ressurection is the most powerful event in our history. The ressurection proves that Jesus is what He said He was; the "Son of God". He told the disciples what would happen, but they couldn't get their heads around the idea. The disciples were mourning and weeping over His death when this should have been a time for jubilation and celebration as his suffering was over and He was ressurected. How could they not believe He said He was going to be ressurected and these women said they saw Him and He spoke to them, yet they still didn't believe. the unbelief of the disciples is crazy considering all the miracles and displays that Jesus has done. Jesus, You are our saviour and redeemer. We love and cherish you and appreciate what You have done for us, Amen!

DAY 70, MARCH 11, 2010

Numbers 15:17-16:40
These passages in Numbers show God's vengance agianst the people of Israel. He killls a great many and shows His power to all the people. He causes the ground to open up and swallow the families that were conspiring against Moses and Aaron. He then burns up the 250 people who were also conspiring agianst Moses and Aaron. These passages again show us how we don't appreciate our life and how we forget the things that God has done for us.

Mark 15:1-47
It seems as if Pilate has more respect and understands the situation with Jesus more than the Jews do. He realizes the Pharises arrested Him out of envy. He even demands them to tell him what crime he has committed. The torture and abuse that Jesus took is stressed and hard to take. The most fascinating part is that He knoew He was going to be taking this abuse and torture, yet He walked with God and let His will happen. It is still so powerful to think what Jesus did for our sins, not just our sins 2000 years later but for the sins of the people who were crucifying Him. What a truly powerful statement to die for the sins of the people who have tortured, humiliated, and ultimitely crucified you. Jesus, I love you, and everything about you. You are my saviour and have provided a sinner like me a chance for eternal salvation. Praise you with everything I am, I love you!

DAY 69 MARCH 10, 2010

Numbers 14:1-15:16
It absolutely blows me away the lack of faith or fear the Israielites have for the Lord. He has provided many huge miracles and done many Godly acts to warrant their faith and respect. They actually start to plot against Moses and talk about going back to Egypt. The Lord tells Moses what He is going to do for their lack of faith and respect...none of them willl enter this land except for Joshua and Caleb because they showed the faith and loyalty and commitment that God deserved. Lord, I make my own covenant with You; I will not turn away. I respect, fear, and love You.

Mark 14:53-72
This passage starts with them trying to find something to put on Jesus. The people they brought totally were falsely testifying and their stories contradicted each other. Hi is the truth and nothing agianst Him is false and sinful. When one of the high priest asks Him if He is the Messiah and the Son of God, He simply answers, "I Am", with the honest truth He knows He is persicuting Himself and is ready to accept God's will. This is where Peter denies Jesus three times befoe the rooster crows twice. How can you let this happen when you said you would die before you would deny Him? Peter has made a huge mistake but I'm sure Jesus has forgiven him for this error. He realizes it when he hears the rooster crow for the second time. Fulfilling Jesus' prophesy, he breaks down suffering great regret.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 68 March 09

Numbers 11:24 -13:33
Joshua runs to Moses and is concerned because others are starting to prphosize and a re spiriting wit God. Moses is not angry and is happy, he wishes all of God's people could do this to lesson the burden on himself. God send sthem as promised an abundance of quail, they gorge themselves and teh Lord is angry so he puts a plague on the people. Aaron and Miriam complain about who Moses has married, Th eLord gets extremely angry and questions Aaron and Miriam for questioning Moses who God trusts more than anyone, don't question true people of God. Moses sent out the twelve leaders to scout Canaan, when they come back they again show their lack of faith in God. They compare themselves to grasshoppers compared to the giants that live there. They use this report as to why they can't survive if they attack Canaan.
Mark 14:22-52
The strength in Jesus's prayer is awesome and overwhleming. he prays for God to save him of the impending torture and death coming his way. Overriding this though is praying that God's will will happen. To know something terrible is goign to happen and to know it is coming and still wanting God's will is truly remarkeable. I love you Jesus and the xample you set for me and my life> I am sorry for my sins please forgive me, as you are teh only one that matters to me.

DAY 67 MARCH 8, 2010

Numbers 10:1-11:23
The trumpets blowing are mentioned here. It is apt because of all our senses must be aware for God now and then. They had to look for the cloud to see when they were moving now they had to listen for the trumpets. All of our senses belong to God. Again, the people of Israiel start complaining. They are God's chosen people, but they continue to show a huge lack of faith and appreciation for everything that the Lord has done for them. Moses himself even whines to God saying that the burden to bear is too much and he can't handle all the people's whinings. He even asks God to tell him now if this is his destiny. God tells him to gather 60 elders and He will dispurse the work among them. He also tells Moses that the Israielites will eat meat (one of their complaints) for the next month.

Mark 14:1-21
This is the passage where the leading teachers were looking for a way to arrest and kill Jesus but they knew if it was done during passover there would be huge riots to deal with. I just shows how popular and true Jesus was when He had the support of the people. These passages contain the lady who poured the expensive perfume on Jesus' head and was scolded by the disciples for wasting it when they could have given it to the poor. Jesus corrects them and raises a good point to never question what someone does in the name of our saviour. He makes and has made all the rules. Who are we to question these. This is the last suppoer when Jesus is being betrayed by Judas. How sad to know this will happen and play out the bad roles.

DAY 66 MARCH 7, 2010

Numbers 8:1-9:23
God gives more instructions to Aaron and Moses. He instructs that the Levites are His people; they are replacing the firstborn sons that God took in Egypt. The directions to the Levites to become clean and then they can be assistants to the Tabernacle to Aaron and the preists. You also see how specific the Lord is with His directions. They can start working at 25 and must retire at age 50. It is interesting with the cloud at the camp as the cloud moved they followed it . Could be one month or one year, this is important because we are all on God's timetable, not our own.

Mark 13:14-37
These chapters are real important as they talk about the bad times. He is not discussing this to clear anything up to His disciples. This is a matter of providing warning and He uses parables to support this. The one involving the slaves and them working not sure when their master will be back. It could be morning, day or night. This keeps all on gaurd not being able to be busy or "act" Christian just before He arrives.
Psalms 5:1-23
This Psalm is about fearing God and respecting Him. It seems to somewhat downgrade the importance of the sacrifices as they just represent the covenant with the Lord; He doesn't need the food--it is all His anyways.

Saturday, March 6, 2010

DAY 65, MARCH 6, 2010

Numbers 6L:1-7:89
The vows that the Nazarite's make to God is interesting as are all vows made. No one is required by God to make a vow for salvation; that is God's giving the power of salvation. As long as they do the vow above and beyond the Bible, they can be blessed by God for doing so. God is very specific in His directions with every tribe giving his gifts to Him. He names every person twice in each passage. I believe this represents God has laid out His very specific plan and it is our duty as individuals to follow out His plans very specifically.

Mark 12:38-13:13
Jesus has two warning in the beginning of these passages: He warns the religious leaders against their pride and power. It is not real them sitting at the top of the tables and getting good seating is not in the name of God. He also warns against the "importance" of the rich as well, these views and vows are artificial and not of God but of man. Jesus prophesies about the temple crumbling down onto each other, the temple is something significant and powerful and Jesus says it will tumble down. The disciples have a problem grasping Jesus' prophecies again.

Proverbs 10:27-28
How prophetic this Proverb: Fear of the Lord (and love of the Lord) will lengthen my life and the hopes of the Godly result in happiness. It has! Lord I am truly happy with my hope and belief in You. My expectation as wicked were nothing without you.

DAY 64, MARCH 5, 2010

Numbers 4:1-5:31
Teh tasks given to Moses by God and again the high level of detail and organization are quite evident. Organization is a means to an end and not an end in itself. A popular line is the church is an organism, not an organization, but being organized is an important part of that organism. I truly believe God wants my family to be organized and these messages so early in the spirit walk will prepare for the future and avoid potential chaos created by lack of organization.

Mark 12:18-37
The type of Pharises who question Jesus seem to be especially brazen and they try to show Jesus the proper scripture. They try to use such insignificant reference and unimportant scriptures to "catch" Him. The next Pharises to challenge Jesus seem to have a different approach than the others. He seems to be actually open to the words that Jesus is speaking. After he asks Jesus his questions, his heart seems to be changing; he seems to be questioning the ones or maybe himself and the motives for his questions. jesus states "You are close to the kingdom of Heaven." Is this a compliment or a backhanded compliment; does it show progression or is this a negative comment? I would not want to end up close to the kingdom of heaven, as the old addage about grenades, etc. This is one that I would not want to end up close on. The depth of these passages are utterly awesome.

DAY 63, MARCH 4, 2010

Numbers 2:1-3:51
Everything is laid out by God in a specific terms that nothing is left to chance or to human interpretation. God is a God of order and we (I) need to follow this in my own life. The Lord has the Levites as assistants to the priest. Again, these duties and responsibilities are divided and laid out to each with major specifics.

Mark 11:27-12:17
When the Pharisees question Jesus, He easily shows their hypocrisy with His question about John. When they talk amongst themselves you see the real true difference between the honesty of Jesus and the hypocrisy and deceit of the Pharisees. The parable with the vineyard and the farmer is a great parable on so many levels. It is directed at the Pharisees but shows Jesus and God's situation played out on earth. Even after the story, the religious leader's colours are in full display as they knew Jesus has directed this parable at them. They desperately wait to arrest Him but because of the crowd they cannot for fear of their own well being. When they try to get Him into trouble about tax collecting for Caesar, etc. , His response, which is immediate (so not thought about), and deep and insightful: "Give to Caesar what is his (earthly money) and give to God what is His (your heart and soul)."

Proverbs 10:24-25
God you have provided the foundation. I should have been whirled and whisked away but your mercy and wisdom have me firmly planted.

DAY 62, MARCH 3, 2010

Leviticus 27:14-Numbers 1:54
As I enter into Numbers a lot of people talk about the readings and say it is extremely boring. It is the word of God, so with all due respect, Leviticus was a tough read, but there were still lessons to be learned. I am glad to be in a new book, a new "environment' and "landscape" if you will. The study Bible mentions that Genesis is about beginnings and Exodus about redemptions, then Numbers is about warfare. The numbers of Israel people able to fight numbers are 600,000--an impressive shocking number that is surprising at how big it is. One of the beginning chapters of Numbers explains how the Levites are not included in this number as they have an important job at protecting the Tabernacle and Aaron.

Mark 11:1-26
These passages have some important parts and things worth pointing out. His entrance into the city is like a king, riding a donkey with people laying their clothes before him. It is similar to a conquest bu a religious conquest done out of love and respect and choice. The next important part is the happenings at the temple when Jesus snaps on all the people doing business there. This is a sacred place meant for PRAYING, not PREYING and PAYING. The third important part is the issue with the fig tree and how He withers it from its roots up; He also later uses this as an example of true faith. The fig also represents Israiel's lack of faith.

Friday, March 5, 2010

DAY 61, MAR. 2, 2010

Leviticus 25:47-27:13
God is concerned about how we use the resources that He has given us, how we treat each other in the real world. An important note regardless of the politics or the economic system of the day or culture, Christianity has always thrived but a key point to it all is that it does so by helping and being very aware of the poor and the oppressed. What a great mix these passages provide. God's grace and forgiveness is forever and insurmountable, but His punishment is equally present and continuous. He talks about the punishment for disobedience and it is severe.

Mark 10:32-52
The passage where James and John asked to be beside Jesus in heaven it created animosity and dissent ion among the disciples, but Jesus explains that they have it all wrong. They are using the times of the day and it's structure to determine how they want to be exalted in heaven. Humble yourself on earth, become a servant on earth to be lofty in heaven; more importantly, follow Jesus' lead. He is the most powerful entity ever on the face of the planet and He is every one's humble servant. While on His way to His beating and demise, Jesus still has time to stop and help a blind beggar.
Psalms 45:1-17
This is a beautiful song or poem about Jesus. It doesn't have the harsh tones of some of David's psalms; this is lovely words of wisdom and joy to our Saviour.

DAY 60, MAR. 1, 2010

Leviticus 24:1-25:46
This passage is where the people are commanded to bring the oil to keep the light burning. The light represents God and His word, and the people bringing the oil is their faith they bring to keep His light lit. It is a representation of their faith. In one of these passages God orders Moses to have the man who blasphemed against Him stoned to death. This shows the severity of this sin and to fear God. As for the oil for the light, He commands this to last many generations or generation after generation so the faith must last forever.

Mark 10:13-31
Jesus scolds the disciples for giving the parents trouble for bringing the children to Him. Anyone who doesn't receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. The man who walked up to Jesus and asked how to get eternal life; Jesus told him to obey the commandments; the man responds that he had done that then Jesus told him to give away all his treasures and possessions and give the money to the poor and you will have many treasures in heaven. The man was sad as he had many possessions. Jesus knew what to tell this person..He wouldn't have said the same to a poor person. Jesus knows the message; we all need it and when we need it. When we are in church and it is as if the pastor went through our garbage and came up with his sermon this is the same idea.

DAY59, FEB. 28, 2010

Leviticus 27:17-23:44
Again, another passage by the Lord giving instructions and directions to Moses to give to the people of Israiel. These directions focus quite a bit on the festivals throughout the year.

Mark 9:30-10:12
This passage starts out with it stating that as He traveled through Galillee, He didn't want people knowing He was there. It states that He wanted to teach the disciples; He needs them to be able to pass on the word..His word.. after He is gone so that is probably part of the importance of Him needing to teach the apostles. The wisdom that Jesus speaks of in these passages is awesome; the disciples are arguing about who is the best out of them. Jesus states that the last and who serves everyone else will be the first. Jesus also says that if miracles are performed in his name, then He is for us, anyone who is not against us is for us. Aain the Pharises try to trap Jesus with their trick questions that they think are so well thought out traps. Jesus uses His infinite wisdom to always make these attempts so foolish.

Psalms 44:1-8
Good solid Psalm putting the strength and grace where it needs to be.

Proverbs 10:19
I love this: Keep our mouths shut!

DAY 58, FEB. 27, 2010

Leviticus 20:22-22:16
These are more passages that give exact direction and regulations...

Mark 9:1-29
The transformation of Jesus into His all white is quite amazing. He starts talking to Elijah and Moses. The three disciples almost missed Moses and Elijah and Jesus in all His glory. Peter speaks for the sake of speaking and doesn't offer much insight or wisdom in this passage. Peter's suggestion that they build 3 monuments or memorials for the three of them. God then comes and states that Jesus is His son and they must listen to Him. Jesus is not on the same page as Moses and Elijah; he is way ahead of them. They are but prophets or spokespeople of the Lord. Jesus IS the Lord, in the flesh. The situation with the demon possessed boy that the disciples could not heal; they were being scoffed at by the scribes. As usual Jesus needs to come in and solve all the problems.

Psalms 43:1-5
This Psalm is about David asking for rescue again from his enemies. This psalm again questions God's plan and what He has done. Why have you tossed me aside? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies? It is these passages where I can most relate to David, though I don't like him probably because I can relate with my old self and him.

DAY 57, FEB. 26, 2010

Leviticus 19:1-20-21
These passages are not so much instructions or directions. They are more of a list of sentences and a what not to do list and what the consequences of these actions would be. Most of it is basic what is not be expected but there are some interesting laws and some interesting and harsh punishments.

Mark 8:11-38
This passage starts with the Pharisees arguing with Jesus and demanding a miraculous even from Him. He scoffs at them and says He will do no miracles for this generation. When they leave and go on the boat, the disciples start arguing because they forgot to bring any food. All they had was one loaf of bread. Jesus listens to them fighting and is disgusted with them. The disciples are like me, they soon forgot what Jesus had done--He jsut finished feeding thousands with a few loaves. He shows us these things and we still lack faith to believe when presented the chance. Jesus starts talking to the disciples about the plan whre He will die and be ressurected. Peter pulls Him aside and starts reprimanding Him..How and who does Peter think he is reprimanding the Son of God!? Jesus t9hen states some strong and powerful points. If you give up your soul to hav the whole world, what good will this do you?

Proverbs 10:17
Lord, I accept the discipline in my life, I am on the pathway to life; I will not go astray!

DAY 56, FEB. 25, 2010

Leviticus 16:29-18:30
Again these passages are filled with expicit instructions about different things and areas. One of the big issues in this area is about several relationships and who to have these relationships with. For the first time in the Bible, homosexuality is discussed and banned from happening by the Lord. The Lord is also very clear in who not to have sex with and he lays out real clearly who those people or animals are.

Mark 7:24-8:10
This first passage even shows that Jesus was capable of changing His mind or opinion and practiced great wisdom. In dealing with the women who's daughter is possessed, He listens to her and because of her answer He changes His mind and heals her daughter right away. After Jesus healed the deaf person with the speech impediment, He again asked for the people not to tell anyone and agian the more He did this the more they talked. This is the second time in a short period of time that Jesus feeds a lot of people (4000+ families) with only a few loaves of bread and a few fish, showing that His miracles are everywhere and about everything. If you are sick, He will heal; if you are hungry, He will feed; if you are deaf, He will let you hear. That is not neccessarily literal, but He has let me hear His words and His will.

DAY 55 FEB. 24, 2010

Leviticus 15:1-16:28
Again, this passage deals with more instructions and directions for different events that happen in daily lives. I understand the need for clarity. Lord, I need this same discipline and clarity in my life.

Mark 7:1-23
The first passage is so accurate and true when the Pharises challenge Jesus as to why His disciples don't follow the age old traditions. Jesus tells them that Isaiah was right when he prophesied "These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man made ideas as commands from God. They are ignoring God's laws and substituting their traditions. All of you LISTEN: IT'S NOT WHAT GOES INTO YOUR BODY THAT DEFILES YOU, YOU ARE DEFILED BY WHAT COMES FROM YOUR HEART." This is an important parable espcially in today's times. I believe Jesus is saying it's not the things that we are subject to that make us sin or do wrong things. They can be passed through you. It is what comes from within: adultery, lust, greed, wickedness, etc.

Psalms 40:11-17
This psalm is awesome and great. If this is David again, he is in a great place and I love this passage; he speaks of his many sins and the line "May those who love your slavation repeatedlly shout 'The Lord is great'." This whole psal is so powerful and insightful.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

DAY 54, FEB. 23, 2010

Leviticus 14:1-57
In these passages it is about Moses being told by the Lord how to deal with serious skin diseases and mildew both on clothes and in the house. Again, as earlier, God is exact and clear with His directions and how He wants these issues to be handled.

Mark 6:30-56
Jesus and the apostles wanted to get away to a quiet place when the apostles come back from their missions. They were so busy they didn't have time to eat. When they left so many people followed them that they had to teach them. Jesus said they were like sheep without a shepherd. This is also the place where Jesus fed 5000 people from five loaves of bread and two fish. Another miraculous event is when Jesus walks on water to save the disciples on the boat. Is there any significance to the apostles screaming, thinking He was a ghost and if not, Jesus may have walked past them?

Psalms 40:1-10
This seems to be a more humble David and not so full of pride speaking to God. I see why he is a true son of God in this passage and there seems to be a change. He has given me a new song to sing indicates a change or a different song than the one before.

Proverbs 10:11-12
The words of the Godly are indeed a life giving fountain as they provide salvation to all who hear and speak the truth.

DAY 53, FEB. 22, 2010

Leviticus 13:1-59
These passages are all about the instructions form God to Moses and Aaron on how to treat different skin afflictions. Again, all of these instructions are extremely detailed and clear without my interpretation.

Mark 6:1-29
The first part of this passage is so true and accurate even to myself. How can He be so wise and smart and do all of these miraculous things yet they (me) scoff at this. So they (me) are saying look at it all..I believe, but I can't believe because of...This was me and I am sorry for my weaknesses of the past. Another important note for the beginning passages is that because of their lack of faith He couldn't do anything for them. "He was amazed at their unbelief".. When it starts to describe John the Baptist and Herod's relationship it is discussed that he was protective of and liked John. He protected John form his wife who wanted him dead. Herod was obviously convicted by John as it says he was greatly disturbed when talking to John. Why John the Baptist was beheaded is absolutely disgusting and wrong. To use your children to do your evil bidding especially against such a Holy person as John is such an act of evil.

Psalms 39:1-13
This Psalm is insightful and wise as my life is but a breath. It is short and insignificant in the scope of things. "RESOLVE ME FROM MY REBELLION. DO NOT LET FOOLS MOCK ME!"

DAY 52, FEB. 21, 2010

Leviticus 11:1-12:8
When the Lord is describing the animals to eat or not to eat, He describes the pig. It this why Jewish people do not eat pig? Are a lot of these instructions health related as well?

Mark 5:21-43
When Jesus is on His way to heal Jarius' daughter the lady touches His robe and is healed from her bleeding. There are a few important notes from this passage. First , she had paid all of her money to those doctors and she was still not healed after 12 years and by just touching Jesus' robe she was healed. When Jesus tried to find out who it was, I assumed it was for scolding and it wasn't, it also wasn't to take the healing back. The important message is that faith coupled with Jesus can heal or do anything. "Daughter your faith has made you well, go in peace. Your suffering is over." Amen, and what a powerful message! When the message arrives that Jarius' daughter is dead, He assures Jaruis just to have faith. When Jesus resurrects the 12 year old girl, the strength again is overwhelming but more importantly is the amount of humbleness and the depth to Him. He tells all of them to not tell anyone of this miracle. He wants people to come to the Lord on the merits of His teachings, not miraculous events or that He is the Son of God.
Psalms 38:1-22
Earlier David chastises the sinner and calls them weak; we need to pray for our enemies and walk with God with a sense of humility.

DAY 51, FEB. 20, 2010

Leviticus 9:7-10:20
This passage is about the offerings for their sins and what they are doing when they are doing them. This is one of the most shocking developments in anything I have read so far, it seems to be heading in the same direction as the other recent Old Testament passages, and then Aaron's two sons are killed by God for burning incense incorrectly. The two things that really shocked me were first how could they have messed up after all the clear instruction that were given over and over but as well it seems like such a harsh judgement for what seemed a fairly minor mistake. This might be another illustration that we cannot figure out the designs of God. What WE may deem as insignificant may be HUGE in God's eyes and vice verse.

Mark 4:26-5:20
It is clear that in Jesus' public ministry He taught in parables and then in His private ministries He explains everything in detail. Is this to get the people that are truly interested in the Lord and weed out unbelievers? This is also the passage where Jesus is on the boat sleeping when the storm and water start to come on the boat. In a miraculous event He silences and stills the wind and water. He then scolds the disciples for their lack of faith. Why are you afraid is what He asks of them. When they got to the other side, this is where He runs across the demon possessed man and He exorcises all the demons to the pigs. The people of the town then want Him to leave. How shortsighted are they? They give up eternal salvation for creeps and pigs...

DAY 50, FEB. 19, 2010

Leviticus 7:28-9:6
Again, I believe this illustrates how clear and detailed we need to be with our directions. Leave nothing to interpretation.

Mark 3:31-4:25
When they come to tell Jesus that his mother and brothers come to see Him and He states that all of His people that do God's will are His brothers and sisters and mothers. But does Jesus go out and meet His mother and brothers? Does this also show that doing God's will and spreading the word is more important than His brothers and mother? Jesus repeats the same parables that were used in Matthew (the story repeats, sorry, Jesus does not). I love this parable because it represents me at different stages of my life. All of these have represented me at different stages. I truly want to be the good deep soil now that bears a great harvest many times more than what has been planted. "Would anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket or under a bed." A lamp needs to be put on a light; this is the direction I need Lord, to do what I make in my heart to do today. I will not let SATAN dissuade me. Your word will be put to task and I will present it to many.

Psalm 37:12-29
It is better to be Godly and have little than to be evil and rich. For the strength of the wicked will be shattered. God I love Your words everyday.

DAY 49, FEB. 18, 2010

Mark 3:7-30
When Jesus went to the lake, the people and followers are huge in numbers. When the people possessed by evil spirits throw their bodies down in front of Him, why does He command the spirits not to say He is the Son of God/ Is it for the reason that He doesn't want people coming to believe and coming to the Lord because of who He is (Name) but more importantly by what He is (AWESOME IN EVERY WAY). The Pharisees accuse Him of being in league with the Devil and for this Jesus says "all sin and blasphemy can be forgiven but anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. This is a sin with eternal consequences. An important note is that yesterday He was preaching and healing on the Sabbath in a "church" and today He is in a boat in a town. Jesus can and will be where ever we are and need Him.

Psalms 37:1-11
Like spring flowers they soon wither. That was me; I was bright and boastful like a spring flower, but look at me now. I have withered. I will be like a peacock, but it will be Your praise that I speak and Your colours that shine bright. This whole Psalm is awesome; it is about me all my life, including yesterday, today and tomorrow. Stop being angry-turn from your wrath! Do not lose your temper--it only leads to harm. This was me yesterday and it leads to harm and evil as I spewed venom from my mouthy.

Proverbs 10:3-7
I LOVE THIS, I WILL WORK HARD!!

DAY 48, FEB. 17, 2010

Leviticus 4:1-5:19
These passages again are full of exact directions for offerings for sins that are committed. The lesson here is have a well laid out plan with contingencies in place.

Mark 2:13-3:6
The first part of this passage is awesome and insightful and accurate. The Pharisees question why Jesus is having dinners with scum. His answer to these questions are awesome! "Do healthy people need a doctor--sick people do." He is not calling on those who think they are righteous but those who know they are sinners. Thank you Jesus for inviting and waiting for me to come to dinner! The Pharisees then started accusing Jesus and his disciples of working on the Sabbath, when He goes into the temple on Sunday to heal the man with the deformed hand and He asks the Pharisees if they should not commit good deeds on the Sabbath; should they commit only evil deeds? They choose not to answer Him. He is disappointed by their hardened hearts. They are letting their own wills and ways get in the way of God's will.
Proverbs 10:1-2
"A wise child brings joy to a father; a foolish child brings grief t a mother." Tainted wealth has no lasting value, but right living can save your life. I have lived and am a living example of this. My wealth obtained from sin has left and I am living right and it really saved my life.

DAY 47 FEB. 16, 2010

Leviticus 1:1-3:17
Is it pleasing to the Lord because it is us sacrificing something from ourselves, and these sacrifices aren't required anymore because He sacrificed His son for us?

Mark 1:29-2:12
It is so interesting and matter of fact how quick and easily He healed Simon's mother-in-law! Later that evening He healed many people and cured people who were possessed by devils and demons, needless to say Jesus was in high demand. He had to explain to His disciples that the reason why He came was to preach to more people and cast out demons everywhere. After He healed the man with leprosy and the man Jesus' will told everyone. This brought people from everywhere coming to Him. The paralyzed man is a great illustration of Jesus' dominion over us on earth. He has the power and has always had the power to forgive our sins.

Psalms 35:17-28
He seems to be questioning the Lord in the first line here. David seems to have a lack of faith and a accusatory way with the Lord. He always seems to come around and know his place with the Lord.

Proverbs 9:13-18
A common theme in Proverbs is to avoid the seducing woman and this proved to yet another example of this. She leads to the devil and the grave.

Monday, February 15, 2010

DAY 46, FEB. 15, 2010

Exodus 39:1-40:38
Again the passages are long and monotonous and I wasn't really understanding the deep meaning to the same instructions being said over and over. But in my like communication has always been an issue and making sure people bought into it, with those directions being handed down over and over that is the point.
Mark 1:1-28
John shows again his lack of pride and arrogance talking about the coming of Jesus. "Someone is coming so much greater that I'm not worthy to be like a slave and untie His sandals." When John baptizes Jesus he truly was reborn and after the display of God's love, he is immediately tested by Satan..this is like our continual battles with sin, even though being saved, we all battle sins and the devil always. The cool part with this vs. Matthew is that Jesus authority is established , His authority over His teaching absolute authority because it is and He is the truth. Authority over His disciples and His authority over sin and evil by exorcising the demon in the church. "What sort of new teaching is this?" It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey His orders. This is said excitedly by the witnesses showing His authority.
Proverbs 9:11-12
Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become so I still hope to become wise, meaning I can move forward and get wiser and with Your Word, I do become wiser every day.

DAY 45, Feb. 14, 2010

Exodus 37:1-38:31
This passage deals with Bezalel making(building) all the things the Lord told him to build. There are things you can get out of this such as everything that is donated was being used for evil or for the flesh anyways, it belongs to the Lord anyway, so how much of a sacrifice is it anyway.

Matthew 28:1-20
**This is huge..our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ has risen for the dead to save us. "I have been given all authority in Heaven and on earth. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them inthe name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands, I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of all"
Psalm 3:11-22
34:22 "No one who takes refuge in Him will be codemned" Lord I take refuge in you, I give You everything..I know I will not be condemned.
Proverbs 9"9-10
Instruct the wise and they will be even wiser...I am instructed every day by Your word. I listen to goood Christian people and am instructed by them. Teach the right and they will learn even more. I am a learned righteous and I starve for learning. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of wisdom. I fear you and Love you Lord.

DAY 44, FEB. 13

Exodus 35:10-36:38
In this passage, Moses goes over what the Lord has asked to be sacrificed and built for Him. This is a great illustration again because it says "all whose hearts were stirred", not meaning God controlled them, they actually were moved to do this. It is their own sacrifice to the Lord. I am sacrificing my life, my will, my soul to You, dear Lord and I do it out of my love for You. 36:1--"The Lord has gifted"...He has gifted me with tremendous strength which I have used for my own or even worse, the devil's means. Please forgive me--my talents are Yours and Yours alone.
Matthew 27:32-66
*After they had nailed Him to the cross, the soldiers gambled for His clothes by throwing dice. This was me, after He gave His life for me, I gambled for His clothes, all the treasures on the earth are His and I played dice for His treasures (clothes). Everyone mocking Jesus is the same as me; the difference is I know and I believe and I always have believed and yet I still mocked You. I am sorry, Jesus. It would have been better if I denied and mocked you bu I knew who You were and still mocked You.
Psalm 34:1-10
I enjoy Psalm more every day. They seem to be directed at me more and more. The Lord is the only one I will boast on. No shadow of shame will darken the face! Amen!
Proverbs 9:7-8
A simple message in this Proverb..don't rebuke a mocker; don't correct mockers, they will hate you. Correct the wise and they will love you.

Friday, February 12, 2010

Day 43 Feb 12

Exodus 34:1-35:9
The Lord exclaims that he is the God of compassion and mercy, he is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfullness. He forgives inequity, rebellion and sin but he does not excuse the guilty. Moses prays that the Lord will accompany them even though they are terrible sinners, The Lord tells them he will lead the way and he will show them miracles they have not ever seen or have never been performed before.
Matthew 27:15-31
Pelate the Roman asks the people who they want him to release Barabbas or Jesus, the people after being convinced by the religous elders say to release Barabbas and they say they want Jesus crucified. This is what is preplanned by Jesus as he needs to be resurected and this is all prophesized. The mocking that was doen by the Roman soldiers is utterly unbeleivable and disgusting, how can you mock the king of all, the most perfect thing ever on this planet, knowing his great mercy he would even forgive these people and there actions.
Psalm 33:12-22
Lord I know you and you alone know my heart, I try to be better, I still sin but I strive to be better tommorrow than today. I fear you and rely on your unfailig love, rescue me from death (eternally and keep me alive in your footsteps in tiem of famine.
Proverbs 9:1-6
Let me eat at the table of wisdom, she is the answer I want to leave my simple ways behind and begin to live and use good judgement.

Day 42 Feb 11

Exodus 32:1-33:23
This passage is a great illustration of myself and how quick I turned away from you Lord. You showed me how glorious and mighty you are and yet I strayed to Satan and his minions, just like the Israelites with the calf. When Moses comes back he is really upset and they end up killing 3000 of there own brother and sisters and children. For this act of repentance they all earned a blessing. The Lord scolds the whole group saying if he was to travel with them all because they are so rebellious and stubborn. The Lord is going to show himself to Moses but he cannot look at his face.
Matthew 26:69-27:14
Peter denies Jesus three times fulfilling his prophecy that he would deny him three times before the rooster crows. Judas tried to return the 30 pieces of silver because he felt so guilty, when he tried to return it they wouldn't take it even though he admitted Jesus was innocent, you see when you go into leaugue with sinners what you are dealing with. Is teh "field of blood" still in existance and this fulfilled Jeremiah's prophecy. When the elders were making there accusations against him Jesus was silent and the only one he responds to is the Roman who asked if he was the "King of Jews" and he responded with "you have said it"
Proverbs 8:33-36
The Lord is wisdom and his instruction is wise, if we make wise choices then the Lord favours us.

Day 41 Feb 10

Exodus 30:11-31:18
Again this passage is more exact directions with absolute detail, anointing oil etc. These passages have not truthfuly done alot for me but I think I may see there purpose. We need a blueprint and a plan for our lives, plan and organize everything to exact measurements etc.
Matthew 26:47-68
When Judas betrays Jesus for 30 pieces of silver I realize I have betrayed Jesus for far less and more than 30 peices of silver. I am sorry Lord and please forgive me. When one of the disciples cuts off the high priest's slaves ear for Jesus saya "those who use the sword will also die by the sword" Jesus also states do you not think that I could I could ask my father for thousands of angels, but he knows the scriptures must be fulfilled. After being arrested Jesus is taken to one of the high preists courtyard where he was given a bogus trial and then they started yelling and beating him. Imagine the amount of guilt and how ashamed these "high preists" feel when teh truth is known.
Psalm 32:1-11
This is the best psalm, I love it as I love you Lord, These are my words in your book this is me and my life."YET WHAT JOY FOR WHOSE RECORD THE LORD HAS CLEARED OF GUILT. WHOSE LIVES ARE LIVED IN COMPLETE HONESTY! WHEN I REFUSED TO CONFESS MY SIN< MY BODY WASTED AWAY, AND I GROANED ALL DAY LONG . FINALLY I CONFESSED ALL MY SINS TO YOU AND STOPPED TRYING TO HIDE MY GUILT!!!!!

Day 40 Feb 09

Exodus 29:1-30:10
Again this chapter gives specific instructions from the Lord as to how Aaron and his sons will be anointed. He describes in great detail how the sacrifices are to be done etc. There is a the theme here regarding blood and how it ties into the blood of the lamb etc.
Matthew 26:14-46
What a terrible thing for Judas when Jesus announces that " it would be far better for the man if he had never been born" At this last supper Jesus gives bread and says its his body, he then gives wine and declares it to be his blood, and it is poured to act as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. Jesus explains to them all that they will scatter and that Peter will deny him three times before nights end. When Peter and teh others fall asleep is this an illustartion and he even says that the spirit is willing but the body is weak. Our body(flesh) without Jesus can't resist the temptations before us.
Psalm 31:19-24
Love the Lord all you Godly ones, for teh Lord protects those who are loyal to him, but he harshly punishes the arrogant. So be strong and courageous all you who put hope in teh Lord!
Proverbs 8:14-26
I LOVE THIS PROVERB. The Lord will fill my treasures with his treausures if I love him. And I do Lord, I love you with all my heart!

Monday, February 8, 2010

Day 39 Feb 08

Exodus 28:1-43
The Lord gives me more specific instructions as to what needs to happen in the making of Aarons robes. He had the tribes of Isaac over his heart and also as a reminder he represents the Israelis as he goes before the Lord.
Matthew 25:31-26:13
He talks about seperating the blessed from the not blessed, the blessed are the ones who fed him when he was hungry, you gave a drink to the thirsty, when he was a stranger you invited him in, when he was naked you gave him clothing, when he was sick you visted him and when he was in prison you visited him. They ask Jesus when they did it they didn't see him ever in those situations, he responds it wasn't him whenever we are doing it to the least of us we are doing it to him. To teh not blessed he says the same that he will send them to the Devil for they didn't do all these things. The situation where teh woman pours the perfume over Jesus, the disciples scold her but Jesus scolds them. Doing deeds directly for Jesus are never a bad thing.
Psalm 31:9-3-18
Lord so much of this Psalm is me, have mercy on me you know the truth all the truth please protect me and my family you are all powerfull and I fully succumb to your will.
Proverbs 8:12-13
I WISDOM, LIVE TOGETHER WITH GOOD JUDGEMENT. I KNOW WHERE TO DISCOVER KNOWLEDGE AND DISCERNMENT.

Day 38 Feb 07

Exodus 26:1- 27:21
This whole passage is like a blueprint to build teh tabernacle that the Ark of the Covenant will sit in. I apologize Lord as I did not get much out of this.
Matthew 25:1 1-30
There is a first analogy here about the 10 bridesmais, five being wise and five being foolish, the jist of it is we don't know when the Lord is reurning. Be ready always, don't realize the truth when it is too late "and you have to run back to the store." The second analogy is equally effective and it uses teh master (God) going away on a trip and leaving bags of silver (faith) with his servants. The two that used Gods faith and blessings and grew it God was very happy and gave them more blessings and faith. The servant that burried his silver and didn't grow on it was punished. God expects us to allways grow on our blessings and faith and he will reward us for doing this.
Psalm 31:1-8
This psalm again is about the strength of God, he asks for protection, not to be disgraced, says he is dust. Rock of protection, quickly, a fortress for your honour lead me out of danger, "Set me free" entrust spirit in your hand, rejoice in your Lord, you see my troubles, care about the anguish of my soul, you have put me in a safe place Lord you have done all this for me, my enemies are your enemies. THANK YOU LORD.

Day 37 Feb 06

Exodus 23:14-25:40
God continues his instructions to Moses and to the Hebrews, he declares there are three festivals that they must celebrate every year. He also tells them he is sending an angel before you to protect you, he also declares to make sure that every one obeys this angel. Is this angel Moses? He tells them that he is clearing the way ahead of them, he is laying out their territories and tells them to make no treaties with these people. He then has Moses and 70 elders come up the mountain, he shows himself to the elders and it sounds like quite the display. Moses went high into the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights the Lord then gives him very strong instruction on how to build the Ark of the Covenant.
Matthew 24:29-51
Jesus tells how there will be a mighty blast of a trumpet and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world. Jesus is saying in 24:34 that this generation will not pass from this scene until all these things take place. What does this mean it didn't happen this way? No one knows when this day will happen there is a great analogy how we don't know when the rapture will be. If a homeowner knew when a burglar was coming he would watch and not allow his house to be broken into. We must be ready always as his son will come when we least expect it. He also says a good one about if we knew we would change how we behave, if we don't know we will always behave good.

Friday, February 5, 2010

Day 36 Feb 05

Exodus 21:22-23:13
A thief who is caught must pay in full for everything he stole, if he cannot pay in full for everything he stole, if he cannot pay it he must be sold as a slave. Is this the justice that will be handed out to me? Be sure not to charge anyone falsely with evil. This whole passage is direction and instruction for the people it explains different circumstances.
Matthew 24:1-28
He tells his disciples that all the temples will be demolished, not one stone will stay on top of another. The disciples ask for a time line when this will happen, Jesus explains there will be alot of birth pains to come. He explains sins will be rampant, the good news abouth the kingdom will be preached everywhere. What is this about when he refers to what David prophesized about "the sacreligous object that causes desecration" standing in the holy place. Jesus warns about not being decieved by false Messiah's who will do great signs and wonders to decieve, he has warned us about this before it happens.
Psalm 29:1-11
This psalm is a combination of direction to follow the Lord mixed with a testimont to the strength and power of God and then ends with the blessings of the Lord on his people.
Proverbs 7:6-23
This proverbs is all about getting trapped and snared by a promiscous women, teh trappings and things to be aware of because this is certain eternal damnation.

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Day 35 Feb 04

Exodus 19:16 -21:21The Lord lays out the following things, 1 You must not have any other god but me, he is a jealous God who will not tolerate our affection for any other Gods 2 We must not misuse his name 3 we must observe teh sabbath no one in teh family must do any work on teh sabbath 4 honour our fathers and mothers 5 we must not murder 6 we must not commit adultery 7 we must not steal 8 we must not testify falsely against our neighbours 9 we must not covet our neighbours house 10 we must not covet our neighbours wife or anything else that belongs to our neighbour. God expands on some of these laws to lay out cleared direction.
Matthew 23:13-39
Jesus speaks of teh sorrow and tragedy that awaits teh teachers of religous law as they have more importance on teh gold in the temple itself than the temple itself or the meaning of the temple. He also says tithing is important6 but more important are justice, mercy and faith. "You strain your water so you won't accidentally swallow a gnat, but you swallow a camel." He talks of them washing the outside of the cup but the inside being filthy (isn't this like a lot of us caring more about show and appearance than the truth of our heart) He goes on about how these religous leaders have built tombs for prophets that there ancestors had killed and that they are teh same as there ancestors.
Proverbs 7:1-5
Obey my commands and live, guard my ministries as you guard your own eyes. Love, wisdom like a sister:Make insight a beloved member of your family.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Day 34 Feb 03

Exodus 17:8-19:15
The first battle shows teh battle when the Amolak attack the Israelites, Moses held his hand and the forces won in a long battle. I looked this up and found something interesting that I did not think of myself. Yah wah nissi "the Lord is my banner". I need to call on the Lord in my battle to be my banner. When Jethro is giving Moses advice he is putting in little disclaimers that I use all the time if "God willing", even though it is great advice it does need to be God's will and his decision. No matter how wise and right we are in our advice make sure that it is left in God's will.
Matthew 22:34-23:12
Again in this passage teh Pharisees try to trap Jesus wich is a foolish ploy. Jesus explains that the Pharisees are teh teachers of Moses laws so practice and obey what they teach and show but don't follow their example. That could be the case with so many "religous leaders" of today who have fallen, they teach the word of God but don't live it that way. I love how we are supposed to be so humbled "don't let anyone call you Rabbi, for you have only one teacher, and all of you are equal as brothers and sisters and don't address anyone on earth as Father for only God in heaven is your spiritual father. And don't leyt anyone call you teacher for you have only one teacher the Messiah. The greatest among you must be a servant but those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Day 33 Feb 02 . 2nd Exdous 15:19-17:7, Mathew 22:1-33, Psalm 27:1-6

Exdous 15:19-17:7
After the lord aboloshises the Egyptians in the sea and saved the isrialites, they are walking and have no water, they come across the bitter water "marav?" and complain to Moses.
Thy start complaining and show a lack of faith. Is this why he set befor them the decree. The peaple of israel again show a lack of faith, the Lord tests them and they fail miserabley..
"How long will these people disobay my commands and instructions. Yet again he people questioned the lord, is this me again Lord how many times have you entered my life and shown me countless miraculous events and yet I still doubt and walk away from you. Not not believing but thinking that you will not provide or will not guide me in my life if i chose to walk with you.
Mathew 22:1-33
The trappings of the pharisees are comical, how and why to trap someoneas all knowing of Jesus christ, my on problems would be like racing a fast car us a paralyzed person.
Trying to trap someone who knows all your motives and intentions is crazy.
Psalm 27:1-6
This Psalm is my favorite so far, it is awesome and powerfull and current to me. The Lord is my light and salvation , so why should I be afraid the Lord is my fortress, protection from danger so why should i tremble. This Psalm is the strength and power I need to face my enemies, which are my own past sins and current sins.
God bless me Amen.

Monday, February 1, 2010

Day 32 February 1, 2010

Exodus 13:17- 15:18
This is the passage where the Lord hardens the Pharoh's heart again and he sends the Egyptians after the Hebrews. The Israilites again it seems constantly doubt God and what He will do for them; He has shown them all a these divine events yet they still doubt. It took the absolute destruction of the Egyptian people to realize the strength and power of God; it took the same event for the Isarailites to realize that the Lord is their only one.
Matthew 21:23-46
The leading preists and elders demand actually demand from our Saviour answers. Who do these people think they are? Hasn't Jesus proven enough to grow their respect and humbleness? Is this God hardening their hearts as he has done with the Pharoh in the past to prove a point? The parable with the vineyard and the owner is clear what will happen with the unbelievers.
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are seven things the Lord despises..We all do each one and see where I stack up
1. Haughty eyes
2. Lying tounge
3. Hands that kill the innocent
4. A heart that plots evil
5. Feet that are idle do wrong
6. A false witness that pours out lies
7. A person who sows discord in family

Day 31 January 31, 2010

Exodus 12:14-13:16
Is this tradition the Lord speaks of customary..what is it called? It refers to no yeast in bread, etc. Is there any significance to yeast and yeast not being allowed or is it just a show of their sacrifice to him? Are all these rituals just to remember that the Lord's mighty and fulfilled his promise to the Israelites.
Matthew 20:29 -21:22
When Jesus is coming to Jerusalem He sent two of his people ahead to grab the two donkeys (one colt). He is going to ride into Jerusalem on these, showing how humble he is..he could have chosen anything but he comes on the cheapest. When he gets to the temple in Jerusalem he sees them buying and selling and trading He gets very angry. "My temple will be called a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves" Jesus refers to faith etc. in this passage with the fig tree. It is not providing fruit so he causes it to wither and die. The disciples were amazed at this and asked how it was possible. Jesus tells them that with faith anything is possible. If you want to push a mountain into the sea, pray for it and you will receive it. This is what Nate relates to at his breakfast.
**Important thing just hit me, the Lord uses us as tools to His glory. They are sometimes different. My relationship with Christ doesn't allow me to judge. I feel deeply convicted if I do. My convictions may be less with something else equally important in God's eyes. But if God is using us as His tools, sometimes He needs a 60lb. mallet and sometimes he may need a fine chisel. We are not wrong if we are doing it in God's name.

Day 30 January 30, 2010

Exodus
The Lord explains to Moses how he hardened the Pharoh's heart so he could show him all the signs. This shows to me that maybe bad things are sometimes a part of God's plan. This may be the case with me and my life and my walk with the Lord.
Matthew 20: 1-28
The analogy of the worker's on the vines and the farm owner being like the kingdom of heaven is great. I t doesn't matter at what point and when you come into heaven, your reward eternal salvation is the same as someone who has walked with the Lord their whole life. Don't be jealous that our Lord is so kind and merciful; rejoice and love him that much more! Wehn the mother of James and John asks that her tow sons be sitting right beside Jesus in heaven, he scolds her and tells her to lead men you have to be the servant, if you want to be first every man, you have to become a slave.
Psalm 25:1-15
"Do not let me be disgraced", "No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced". This is true as I experience this right now, I should be terribly disgraced in my life right now, but I'm not because of the Lord.
Proverbs 6:6-11
This passage is directed to me. Let me work hard and not let laziness settle in. Starting tomorrow, I will work really hard.

Exdous 8:1-9:35
the Lord tells moses about the next event that he will do to pursuade the Pharoah, he summons a herd of frogs and this finnaly convinces the Pharoah.
the Pharoah tells moses he will let the hebrews go when he gets the frogs gone, after the lord removes the frogs the Pharoah relents and changes his mind, he dose this two more times.
I compare this to my lifewhere God has shown me his miraculous events i have vowed to ???????? and follow his will keep me on this path for the rest of my life.
As I learn your words I truelygain not only intelligence more importantly i learn wisdom, or more accuratley gain wisdom.
Mathew 19:13-30
This passage is all about our priorites with riches and wealth versus our eternal salvation.
It is very bad for a rich person to enter the ???????? ???????: "it is easier for a camel to go throgh the eye of a needy than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God." It also refurs to some where the most important now will be the most important then.
Proverbs 6:1-5
In this proverb it says to not put your name on someones ?????, follow his advice as save yourself live a gaze he escaping from ???????.

Day 28 January 28

Exodus 5:22-7:25
Moses goes back to the Lord and complains how ruthless the Pharaoh has been since Moses told him to let his people go. God tells Moses to wait and see what he will do to the Pharaoh. Moses also passes along the things the Lord promises to his people and they ignore them because of how bas they are being treated. The Lord talks to Moses again and tells him he needs to talk to the Pharaoh, Moses again complains that he is not a good speaker and the Lord tells him what he is going to do. He also says that the Pharaoh won't listen and this is by God's will. He wants this to show more miraculous events to both the Egyptians and the Israelites. Two of these were turning his staff into a snake a trick the magicians try to match but the Lord's snake eats the others. The next was that he turned the Nile into blood killing all the fish in it.
Matthew 18:21-19:12
How many times are we to forgive someone who sins against you, Jesus tells him to forgive 70 X 7 times. Jesus explains the story of the king who forgave the guy and then that guy didn't pass on his forgiveness. You must forgive from your heart, this is important. When Jesus goes to Judea he is confrontef by the pharisees regarding his laws and the laws of the old testament, it seems they are allways trying to get Jesus to show contradictions between himself and the old testament.
Proverbs 5:22-23
This is me again, I have been held captive by my own sins.

Day 27, January 27 2010

Exodus 4:1-5:21
Moses questions the Lord as to how the people will believe and listen to him. He provides 3 signs to show them--his staff into a snake, him healing his hand and then turning the water into blood. Moses tries to convincde God that he isn't the man for the job as he isn't good with his words etc. It is funny the Lord gave me the talent of speaking but for so long it was used for the wrong purposes. The Lord tells Moses what he is going to say and do to the Pharoh, incluiding leaving his son. The Pharoh gave them impossible tasks to complete and called them lazy when they couldn't complete it. The Israilites confront Moses and Aaron and accuse them of giving the Egyptians the sword to kill them with.

Matthew 18: 1-20
Jesus compares a little child t the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. He also gives great warnings to those who would corrupt those children with sin. Jesus also explains how to handle a situation if a fellow follower has done something to wrong you, you must quietly appproach and try to get it resolved. If that doesn't work you must approach him with 2 or 3 people from the church and gtry to get it resolved. If this doesn't work then you must take it to the church and let the church resolve the situation. "Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven."

Proverbs 5: 15-21
I love this, as I love my wife. She is my lovely dove and I will never be lead astray by another woman.

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

Day 26 Jan 26 Exdous 4:1-5:21 Mathew 18:1-20, Proverbs 5:15-21

Exdous 4:1-5:21
moses questions the lord as to how the peaple will beleive and llisten to him. He ???????? 3 signs to show them, his staff into a snake, him healing his hand and then turn the water into blood.
Moses tries to convince god that he isnt the man for the job as he isnt good with his words ect. It is funny the Lord gave me the talent of speaking, but for so long it was used for the wrong purposes. The Lord tells moses what he is to say and ?????? the Pharaoh including Only his son. The Pharoah gave them impossible tasks to complete and called them lazy when they couldnt complete it.
The Isrialites confront Moses and Aaron and accuse them of giving the Ejyptians the sword to kill them with.
Mathew 18:1-20
Jesus compares a little child to the greatest in the kingdom of heavon.
He also gives great warnings to those who would corrupt the children with sin. He also explains how to handle a situation if a fellow follower has done something wrong to you, you must quietly approach and try to get it resolved. If that dose not work, approach him with 2 or 3 peaple from church and try to get it resolved. If that dose not work you must take it to the church and let the church resolve the sintuation. "Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbiden in heavon whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heavon.
Proverbs 5:15-21
I love this, as i love my wife she is lovely and i will nver be lead astray by another woman.

Day 25 Jan 25 Genesis 50:1-Exodus 2:10 Matthew 16:13-17:9 Psalm 21:1-13 Proverbs 5:1-6

Genesis 50:1-Exodus 2:10
After all the mourning over Jacob's death the brothers were worried about there safety. Joseph being a true man of God assured all his brothers that they were fine for he truly forgave and knew it was all God's will. He also states that he is not God so not one to punish them. After Joseph's death a new pharoah came and treated the Israelites poorly he also ordered two midwives to kill all the boys, the did not follow these evil directions and were rewarded by God because of it. It is equivalent to not following a direct order from the Prime Minister because of your loyalty and devotion to the Lord. This passage also shows how Moses came to be and how God intervened to save his life.
Matthew 16:13-17:9
Jesus renames Simon Peter which means "rock", he declares he will build his church on this rock. Jesus tells the disciples to not tell anyone that he is the Messiah, he also tells them what he is going to do and how he is going to die and then be ressurected. He is very angry with Peter for he tries to talk him out of it, he says Peter is looking at it merely from a human point of viewand not from God's view which is omniscient. He then tells all the disciples to give up their lives for him. What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul." This is so profound and accurate, I apologize Lord for trying to gain things of this world please forgive me for my sins. The meeting on the mountain with Jesus, Peter and his two brothers is awesome in its power and meaning.
Proverbs 5:1-6
"teh lips of an immoral women are as sweet as honey and her lips are as smooth as oil. but in teh end she is as bitter as poison as dangerous as a double edged sword. Insightfull words to be carefull.

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Day 24, January 24, Genesis 48:1-49:33, Matthew 15:29-16:12

Jacob again blesses Joseph's two sons but he seems to continue the same trend of blessing the younger of the sons. Joseph is disappointed and even mentions he is blessing the wrong son but Jacob corrects him and says that the younger will be more powerful. Jacob lays out what will be the future of all of his sons-some great (Joseph and Benjamin) and some are not so good (Ruben). This kind of sets out some sort of judgement for the lives we live. I pray that because of Jesus my sins have been cleansed and I thank God for His mercy. Jacob gives instruction to be buried where Isaac and Abraham were buried and he is still there to this day.

Again Jesus does the same as before, heals and cures a huge group of sick. After healing everyone he decided it was time for them to eat. He only had seven loaves of bread and a few small fish, he blesses the food and feeds over 4000 plus women and children. A truly miraculous feat. The Pharisees and Sadducee's come to Jesus demanding a miraculous event to prove his authority. He condemns them for saying only an evil, adulterous generation would demand a miraculous sign. After this the disciples start arguing because they forgot bread. Jesus warns them about Pharisees yeast spreading. He said then about the bread and reminds them about their lack of faith..do they not remember what he did for 5000 from 5 loaves & 2 fishes, etc.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

Day 23 Jan 23

Genesis 46:1 -47:51
God speaks to Jacob and tells him to go to Egypt and that all will be blessed and he would die there and be blessed. Joseph mentions that Egyptians despise shepards, is this something deeper that Egyptians despine shepards of men in a biblical sense, Jacob blesses Pharoa who is a man obviosly of different beleifs but Jacob still sees fit to bless this man, I beleive more is a lesson to be learned .Jacob sks Joseph to swear to him not to be buried in Egypt, he wants to be buried back in his own land and they would fulfill what he Lord said to jacob before he came to Egypt.
Matthew 15:1-28
This passage once again shows the depth and wisdom of Christ our saviour, when he addresses the Pharisees as they are accusing him of disobeying a minor age old tradition. He points out that they are the hypocrites and also fullfill Isaihhs prophacy "these peaple honor me, with their lips but their herats are far from me. There worship is a farce for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God." :its not what goes into your mouth, that defiles you: you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth. The way I read this is we are presented with sin deciet and evil but these things are just words or thoughts if we react or speak of these things that is truley wrong.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Day 22 January 22

When Joseph's servant catches up with his brothers and tells them that the silver cup is what he predicts the future with he doesn't truly believe this does he? Has Joseph told him this or is this strictly the servant talking. When they are brought back before Joseph he tells them that He can predict the future, is this still part of his ruse or is he forgetting it is not him but the Lord. Joseph confesses his game to his brothers and confesses who he actually island what he has been doing to them. Was this his intention and timing all along or did God intercede and spead up this process. He forgives his brothers and explains to them that this is not really there fault but more of Gods plans, Joseph is a true man of God and someone who we should all strive to be like and he is a truly a blessed man of the Lord.
Matthew 14 13-36
Jesus does two feats here to showcase his powers of Go, he has five loaves of bread and two fish and with that amount of food he feeds 5000 men , women and children and has twelve baskets of food left over. Later that night his disciples are in trouble with the boat they are in , Jesus walks on water to come and save them. The disciples cannot believe what they are seeing. Jesus asks Peter to walk towards him at first he is doing it because he has faith as it falters he walks into the water. Jesus scolds him for not having enough faith and for not believing.
Psalm 18:37-50
The Psalm passage again talks of the power and might in our Lord and how he will protect all who trust and ask and he will conquer your enemies.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Day 21 Jan 21 Genesis 42:18-43:34 Matthew 13:47-14:12 Psalm 18:16-36 Proverbs 4:7-10

Genesis 42:18-43:34
Joseph is showing a great amount of grace and forgiveness to his brothers considering the amount of cruelty and there evil schemes towards him. His blessings continue a trend in the Old Testament where the youngest son is the most blessed. This is contrary to the laws of the land where power and strength were always given to the first born. Joseph still has allot of emotions towards his brothers as he breaks down on several occasions.
Matthew 13:47-14:12
Jesus went back to Nazareth and the people questioned where he got his powers from. They knew his family so they couldn't understand how he could do miracles when his mother, father etc were normal. Because of their lack of faith he did fewer miracles there. This passage also tells of how and why John the Baptist was killed, Herod is concerned that Jesus is John the Baptist reincarnated.
Proverbs 4-7:10
Again in this proverb we are implored to find wisdom, we will live a long good life if you have her crown on your head. Once again wisdom is referred to as a female and as she is this consistant throughout the bible.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Day 20 January 20 Genesis 41:17-42:17 Matthew 13:24-46 Psalm 18:1-15 Proverbs :1-6

Genesis 41:17-42
The Pharaoh makes a point of saying that all the magicians could not figure out the dreams or visions. I believe that this is important as Joseph doesn't take credit for interpreting the dreams it is all God and he can figure what an army of magicians can't. The Lord provides all the answers, this story illustrates how blessed Joseph is and how people associated with Joseph get blessed as well.
Matthew 13:24-46
The Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for choice pearls. When he discovered a pearl of great value he sold everything he owned and bought it, why did Jesus choose to speak in parables. Does he not want to bring as many people to the Lord as possible. If he is speaking in riddles will they not have a harder time understanding the words of truth that bring people to the Lord. The disciples even need to have these parables explained to them so you can imagine the commoners who don't have them explained in private talks with Jesus. "I will speak to you in parables , I will explain things hidden since the creation of man."
Psalm 18:1-15
Q Is this a literal account of a battle where David called on the Lord in the middle of a battle.
Proverbs 4:1-6
This is the direction for children to listen to their parents, again it refers to the importance of wisdom. It refers to wisdom as a female as it has before, it seems accurate to me that wisdom would be a soft caressing female and intellect as being a strong abrasive male. Intelligence is really nothing without wisdom as its guide.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Day 19 Jan 19 Genesis 39:1- 41:16 Matthew 12:46-13:23 Psalm 17:1-15 Proverbs 3:33-35

Genesis 39:1-41:16
Joseph was blessed by God so everything he was involved was successful even being a servant, Potiphar realized this so put him in charge of all of his affairs, and for doing this all of his affairs went smoothly. The lesson here is if you have people blessed working for you it only adds to your blessings. Joseph interprets both dreams accurately and tells the truth even though both dreams aren't good news for the people involved. This story also shows us how hard it is for us to trust nonbelievers. One of the most important lessons of this passage is how humble Joseph is when he is presented to the Pharaoh, he doesn't take credit for the interpretations of the dreams as he should he gives all the credit to the Lord.
Matthew 12:46-13:23
Jesus establishes anyone who does God's will is his brother, sister or mother. Jesus uses parables when on the boat and when speaking to the masses. When they ask him why he explains that the people truly listening will get it for the unbelievers they will not get it and his teachings will leave them. This fulfilled another Isaiah prophecy Matthew 13:18:23 is real strong. As for the parables used my seed fell on both on the rock and in the thorns, I both fell away too quickly but the message was also blurred by the worries of my life and by my pursuit of wealth even in a evil, crooked sinful way. Please let my seed be pushed to the good soil or replanted as I truly see the sins of my ways.

Monday, January 18, 2010

Day 18 Jan 18 Genesis 37:1-38:30 Matthew 12:22-45 Psalm 16:1-11 Proverbs 3:27-32

Genesis 37:1-38:30
We get introduced to Joseph (the same one from movies plays etc) at this point in Genesis. The common theme continues with sibling rivalry and jealousy etc. A huge amount of evil and deceit are going on as the brothers plan on killing Joseph for petty jealousy, they then change there mind and decide to sell him to traders for 20 pieces of silver. The path of sinning and deceit continue and this is something I understand more than most how the snowball of continuous deceit is required to cover up previous sins etc. Why not come clean with the Lord repent your sins and lies and the weight of the world is lifted, what an awesome gift the Lord is willing to give and has given to me.
Matthew 12:22-45
The Pharisees claim the Jesus was in league with the Devil because he was casting out Demons. An extremely important part of this passage is that "every sin and blasphemy is forgiven - except blasphemy against the Holy Spirit , which will never be forgiven. Be carefull what you say as your words will either condemn you or acquit you. The Pharisees come to Jesus and say they want to see a miracle, he tells them about his Resurrection to come, he also refers to Jonah and his story with the people from Nineveh and how these people repented from their sins.
Proverbs 3:27-32
Do good things and help your neighbours , do not envy violent people as God detests this people.

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Day 17 Jan 17 Genesis 35:1-36:43 Matthew 12:1-21 Psalm 15:1-5 Proverbs3:21-26

Genesis 35:1-36:43
God directs Jacob to get rid of all the pagan idols and move to Bethel and to build an altar there. They buried all their idols and earnings under a great tree, as they left God protected them.. It explains of Rachel dying shortly after giving birth, the monument is still there to this day. It strikes me as odd that there is solid concrete proof of the bible thousands of years after the facts and people still refuse to believe.
Matthew 12:1-21
Pharisees question Jesus's disciples for breaking off heads of grain and eating them on the Sabbath. The Pharisees contention was that the disciples were working on the Sabbath. Jesus starts condemning these people saying they don`t understand the meanings of the scriptures. They tried to trick him when he went to there synagogue there was a man with deformed hand and they asked Jesus if he was allowed to heal on the Sabbath. Jesus healed the mans hand and for doing this the Pharisees started a plot to kill him. This again shows the power and depth of Jesus, of course he was aware of there tricks and plots yet he still healed the man.

Jan. 16 ,10, Genisis 32:13-34:31, Mathew 11:7-30, Psalm 68:19-35, Proverbs 11:29-31

Genisis 32:13-34:31
Jacob is giving all these gifts to his brother Esan, it seems to be showing a call of faith again or all these deceptions the will of god to keep thy safe?
When Jacob is wrestling is it God he is wrestling all night? when Csow meets Jacob it seems as if all is good and well between them, jacob has to asist constantly from Esan to accept all his shifts.
Q Dose Jacob eventualy go and meet his ??????? on dose he not trust him?.
The rape and ??????? murder was not condemed on end journy by Jacob he was away with his sins as no what they had done.
Mathew 11:7-30
In this passage it is spoken in contradiction but the contradictions and tree are accurate.
Jhon the babtist is greedy here on earth but he would be ????? than anyone in the kingdom of heavon.
"Come to me all of you who are wearyand carry heavy beardons, and i will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you> Let me travel you beacause i am humble and gentle at heavon, any you will find rest for your souls, for my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden i give you is light."
Proverbs 3:19-20
-By wisdom lond founded the earth.
-By understanding he created the Heavons
-By his knowledge the deep foundation ????????

Day 15 Jan 15 Genesis 31:17-32:12 Matthew 10:24-11:6 Psalm 13:1-6 Proverbs 3:16-18

Genesis 31:17-32:12
Jacob leaves and "sneaks away" with his wives and all his possessions. Rachel stealing her dad's possessions wasn't laid out as a "bad thing" but I'm sure it is not to be rewarded. When Labam catches up to him a couple of interesting observations make themselves present to me, a thought is not a fact what Laban thought was the scenario was not. the rage and anger that he was feeling was not justified. Why don't we put all of our disputes and quarrels in the hands of God, he is the universes best judge or umpire and he never misses a call as he sees all. Q It seems that Jacob is filled with faith but still seems extremely worried about Laban and Esau why?
Matthew 10:24-11:6
"What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes." You spoke to me in my darkness now I am in your light and I need to shout it out loud. It is clearly laid out where our priorities must lie if needed, we must fight against our families if they contradict the word of Jesus. "Don't imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth,I came not to bring peace, but a sword!" I believe he is speaking only in the context of the battle between believers and non believers.
Proverbs 3-16 3-18
The joys and rewards of wisdom are beautiful and so much more important than intellect and intelligent.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

Day 14 Jan 14 Genesis 30:1-31:16 Matthew 10:1-23 Proverbs 3:13-15 Psalms 12:1-6

This passage is all about swindling and conniving, something I am all too familiar with. First the bickering and fight between Rachel and Leah about the children leads to multiple wives and maids becoming vessels for children. Is this where the Mormon belief s come into play with multiple wives etc.. The deal with Jacob and Laban seems like a fair deal considering his wealth is built on Jacobs blessings and on his back. Laban tries to weasel out of the deal and manipulate it to his benefit (something I WOULD have done) but the Lord and Jacob make it fair and right.
Matthew 10:1-23
The twelve apostles Peter(Simon), Andrew, James,John,Phillip,Bartholomew,Thomas,Matthew,James,Thaddeus,Simon and Judas. His directions to the disciples are simple and awesome, go out and heal, resurrect and give as freely as you were given. Don't receive anything for doing this accept hospitality and be fed. The direction about visiting a city and finding a place to stay , bless it and if they deserve it leave the blessing. We should all try to do the same by bringing people into our home and by being good and honest we will keep their blessings. He also explains how they will be persecuted and thrown in jail, but this isn't presented as a negative but it puts them in front of more non believers. That may be Gods will for me to go to jail and face that with dignity and pride and to speak to and give my testimony to as many "sinners" as possible. If that is your will God let it be and I will face it gladly.

Day 13 Jan 13 Genesis 28:1-29:35 Matthew 9:18-38 Psalm 11:1-7 Proverbs 3:11-12

To summarize what I am doing, every day I am writing from my journal my views, takes and questions on some of the passages that I have read about from the One Year Bible. I list all the passages for that day even though I don't comment on all of them every day, If you started on Jan 01 at the end of the year you will have read the bible cover to cover and that is what I am going to do. I hope you enjoy it has been a life changing experience for me as the words of the Bible are truly awesome. It is our official launch of our church on Sunday January 17th at the Knights of Columbus in Emeryville at the rear. Northshore Community Church being lead by Pastor Dan Velade please join us for great fellowship and prayer.

Genesis 28:1-29:35
Here is the lineage that I understand it to be Adam & Eve --- Cane& Abel --- Abraham --- Isaac & Ishmael--- Esau & Jacob up to this point. There seems to be constant conflict between the sets of brothers right from the beginning. Cain & Abel, Isaac& Ishmael and Esau&Jacob , a common trend also seems to be that the stronger and older always seem to come out on the short end of the stick. Outwardly stronger doesn't necessarily translate into being spiritually stronger or having more faith, your natural birthright(being first born) is always trumped by Gods design and his will. Do these passages also emphasize that family bonds are secondary to the Lord and his will.
Matthew 9:18-38
These passages start out with more miraculous works of healing by Jesus even woke a girl from death, news of this spreads throughout the countryside. The girl that he healed was the daughter of a leader of a synagogue, this shows regardless of background all are open to Jesus Christs love. In his speakings a truly powerful point is when he says "the harvest is great, but the workers are few. The "harvest is great" refers to Gods, word , love. mercy , strength etc and indeed it is great but there aren't enough people spreading his word, not enough of us "working"
Proverbs 3:11-12
This prover is about accepting God's punishment and directions as not as negatives, if he disciplines us we need to remember as we might discipline our own children whom we love deeply.

Day 12 Jan 12 Genesis 26:17-27:46 Mathew 9:1-17 Psalm 10:16-18 Proverbs 3:9-10

Genesis 26:17-27:46
This story and passage are filled with much deceit and intrigue not just between Esau and Jacob but it also includes Rebekah. It seems unfair what happens to Esau as it seemed unfair what happened with Ishmael. Both Rebekah and Sarah seem to fall in a unholy way filled with deceit. Q If a blessing is earned by deceit is it truly a blessing from God.
Mathew 9:1-17
Again this is extremely powerful and deep, it starts off with him questioning the religious teachers about them questioning him. He tells them it is more important for the paralyzed man to be cleansed of his sins than it is for him to walk. He allowed the man to walk and used his condition to show them his power.Q The Mathew that is the tax collector is he the same Mathew we are reading about the disciple Mathew. His speakings about healthy people not needing doctors and a great line " For I have come to call not on those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners." This is me Jesus, I am a sinner and will always sin. Please forgive me for these sins and help me sin less tomorrow than today for the rest of my life. I love you Jesus

Day 11 Jan 11 Genesis 24:52-26:16 Mathwew 8:18 -34Proverbs 3:7-8

Genisis 24:52-26:16
The display of loyalty to the Lord is overwelming to all involved and the covonent of marraige comes across strongly beetween Rebekah and IsaiahQIs Ishmael the beginning of the middle east nations, Iran, Iraq, ect? again Issac who is blessed by god proclaimes Rebekah to be his wife, jealousy plays a role as the philistines do bad things to him and Abimolach sends him away beacause he is too powerfull.
Mathew 8:18-34
When the storm struck the waters they woke Jesus out of fear for their lives, he rebuked the wind and waves and suddenly there was a great calm. He says to them they "why are you so afraid? You have so little faith. Is this a scolding to them? Should they have prayed themselves and shown faith instead of waking him it seems they faith in him. After his display with the demons into the herd of pigs why do the townspeople ask him to leave? He controls the weather, he casts out demons and he heals the sick, why rebuke him? This is a good question for myself why have I rebuked my savior so long? Thank you for the answers my lord!!!
Proverbs 3:7-8
Don't be impressed with your own wisdom instead, fear the lord and turn away from evil, then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 10 Jan 10 Genisis 23:1-23:1 Matthew 8:1-17 Psalm 9:13-20 Proverbs 3:1-6

Genisis 23:1-24:51
Sarah died at 127 years old, young it seems for their standards, was this punishment for some of her previous deeds. Abraham is honoured in this land and is shown this by how he is dealt with after Sarah's death. The issue with Rebekah is overwhelming and again shows how close to the Lord all these people are, the Lords will and works are not questioned. Not one, the servant Abraham, Rebekah or Lahon or Bethuel question the lords will.
Mathew 8:1-17
In this passage he shows his healing powers on many different occasions but the strongest is the conversation with the roman officer. He commands the officer for faith so strong and far displaying other honestly he is implying a place in heaven for this solider and maybe not for others that had a place reserved in heaven.
